C2G welcomes new team member

C2G is pleased to announce that Alia Hassan has joined the C2G team as Outreach Officer, Government and Intergovernmental Organizations.

Alia Hassan (France) is an international relations expert, with over 10 years of experience in Latin America and the Middle East. She is specialised in sustainability, education and culture, and working with governments and international organisations to build strategic alliances. Before joining C2G, Alia worked with UNDP as Project Coordinator where she supported the Government of Ecuador’s efforts to strengthen the country’s climate change governance. Alia holds a MSc Degree in Political Science from the University of Quebec in Montreal, and a BSc in Communication Science from the University of Montreal.

Alia says: “I am very excited to join the C2G team and work with governments and international organisations across the globe to catalyzse the creation of an effective international governance framework for climate-altering technologies.”

She replaces Natalia Rubiano, who will be undertaking a PhD on the social, political and economic implications of negative emissions at Lund University in Sweden.

Natalia says: “Working with C2G opened my eyes to a whole new world of emerging climate-altering technologies, with its complexities, intricacies, and knowledge and governance gaps. With this newfound curiosity, I have now decided to embark on a new adventure to further contribute to the increasing body of knowledge on the topic.”
